So, i read this article the other day about this guy who is suiing westpac or some bank because they made a mistake that gave him $198,000 instead of $18,000. The extra money he then gambled away.
Now this guy is suing the bank because he gambled the money away which is ridiculous.
He's basically saying that the bank, by giving him all this money made him gamble it away which is rubbish.
He had a gambling problem before he was given the money but was obviously made worse because he had more money to gamble with.
What bullshit! This guy should own up to the fact that he has a problem. He had a problem before the money was given to him and he still has a gambling problem now he doesn't have the money.
Mistakes happen and i'm sure the bank wouldn't be happy this happened and im sure they wouldn't have given him that amount of money anyway.
He's also suing a credit union saying they shouldn't have given him a loan when they knew he couldn't pay it back, which is fair enough, but seriously i've heard stories of this happening with quite a few people and they don't go and sue.
I really hope Australia doesn't turn into such a liturgeous society like America.
But this guy should take responsibility for his actions and get help for his problem.
